Eye on Nature Environmental Day 2016

On Thursday 7th April most of the Enviro Club went to the Eye On Nature environmental day at the Botanic Gardens.
We had an amazing time and learnt a lot. We went for a bush walk and learnt about creatures living there, how the trees keep it cool and that our rivers and streams need to be clean.
We had a talk about sustainable fishing from LegaSea and we all got to hold a snapper (some for the very first time).
We planted lettuce in a self watering recycled drink bottle and then made an origami sea bird.
It was a day where we learnt and had fun… the best type of day!

My favourite part of the day was holding the snapper because it was stinky and smelly.

My favourite part of the day was putting the plant in the pump bottle with Aston. I had so much fun.

My favourite part of the Botanical Gardens was everything, but my highlights were making the plant pot and getting my hands dirty. I am loving planting in the gardens. This is great :-)

My most favourite part was doing the bushwalk and learning about the Dragonflies. I wish that we could of stayed the whole day and learned about more. I loved it!

My favourite thing was when I could touch the snapper because it was slimy and scaly.

My favourite part was the fish tent because I learnt how to hold a fish and what’s happening that’s in the ocean and all the rubbish.

My favourite part is when we planted the plant in the bottle.

My favourite part of the trip was the Art Gallery because one of the schools used milk bottle lids to make art. I also enjoyed the maze how you started at the start and ended at the start.
